- RPI capable means that the modem is serially challanged. Your modem
- does NOT have built-in error correction or data compression; those
- were provided by the software shipped with the modem. You got what
- you paid for.
- You have three options:
- 1) Live with it
- 2) Dump your RPI modem for a real external modem, in which case
- you'll still be limited to a max of 19.2 by your 8250 UART.
- 3) Replace your RPI modem with a real internal ($99 for a 28.8 seen
- advertised on the internet) modem with a built-in 16550 UART and
- upgrade to Win95 for much improved serial communications.
